- Building A Company

Channell Consulting Company was founded in 1989 by Mike Channell. A construction industry veteran, Mike began his career as a crew member and worked his way into supervisory and management positions before starting his own company.

Those years of experience at all levels of the business formed a rock-solid foundation - one which has allowed Channell Consulting Company to consistently excel and grow. Today, with more than 250 years of combined management and construction experience on staff, and projects ranging from door installation to health care facility construction, we are positioned to expand our services into ever-larger construction markets.

Channell Consulting Company has grown steadily since its inception. This is due partly to industry growth in the markets Channell Consulting Company serves, which has kept construction booming. But more importantly, the company's success lies in our ability to attract and retain quality, experienced personnel; to be extremely price competitive; and to provide top-quality service to all our clients, large or small.

In 1995, the company became SBA 8(a) certified. This certification has resulted in substantial opportunities to work on federal projects. In addition, we have entered into several joint venture agreements with larger firms, earning their support and mutual respect. Channell Consulting Company also has the ability to obtain necessary bonding and interim financing for large projects.

Our efforts at building a quality organization have given Channell Consulting Company a significant competitive advantage. Our intention is to sustain "managed" growth and maintain a low debt-to-equity ratio. We believe that our focus on these vital issues will enable us to move into new and larger construction markets, making Channell Consulting Company a prominent name in the construction industry and enabling us to meet future challenges and opportunities.

- Growing A Company

Mike Channell's ability to complete large-scale projects with quality craftsmanship on a timely basis was noticed by the general contractor on the ConAgra World Headquarters complex in the late 1980s. Impressed with Mike's knowledge, competence and integrity, the contractor suggested that Mike start his own construction business...and Channell Consulting Company was born.

We received our first Federal Government contract at Offutt Air Force Base in 1996. The Air Force contracting office was so impressed with the company's performance that it awarded us three additional contracts. Through alliances like these, Channell Consulting Company has gained valuable client contacts and name recognition.

Today, we are striving to expand our operation to larger, more complex contracts that complement the expertise and experience of our management and staff. We recently completed the construction of a health care facility for the Ponca Tribe in Omaha, the first Indian Health Service-funded clinic not constructed on federally owned land.

Every project undertaken by Channell Consulting Company is distinguished by two important characteristics - quality craftsmanship and timeliness. In fact, these are the company's hallmark. Because of this dedication to excellence, our clients have expressed their satisfaction with our company's finished work product, as well as our price.

The exploding construction industry has brought increased competition and shrinking profit margins. But even in this environment, Channell Consulting Company remains a strong competitor because of its 250+ years of management and construction experience. Our SBA 8(a) certification provides Channell Consulting Company with access to information and federal contacts. We have targeted both SBA 8(a) and non-SBA 8(a) projects, including corporate, city, county, state, federal agencies and Native American tribes located throughout the Midwestern states.

Now, in addition to federal projects, Channell Consulting Company is pursuing large commercial projects as general contractor or subcontractor. We have hired qualified professionals on staff and have a long list of top-notch subcontractors with whom we have developed positive working relationships.

Communication is extremely important to Channell Consulting Company. Biweekly company meetings are held between management and employees to discuss prior-period results, quarterly goals and marketplace changes. These in-house communication sessions have helped our employees understand that communication with the client is equally important. To that end, our employees are specifically trained to listen - and respond to - the wants and needs of our clients.

- The Promise of The Future

Future plans for Channell Consulting Company include expansion into Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. The success enjoyed by our Omaha and Des Moines offices indicates that our company offers the type of service and business philosophy that are a welcome addition to the construction industry.

Channell Consulting Company's internal growth plans include an in-house "design/build system". With the addition of our own designing department, architects and engineers can work closely with builder during the design and construction phases to provide superior work product at a reasonable price.

Major objectives of Channell Consulting Company are increased customer awareness, general contractor consciousness and the development of a positive company image. To achieve these objectives, Channell Consulting Company regularly visits federal agencies with a member of the SBA, networks with large construction firms and seeks venture opportunities.

The company's future plans also include securing Native American projects for the purpose of employing Native Americans on the reservation sites.
